Nominal Enquiry

Use this window to view transactions for a Nominal / Cost Code for a particular period. You can use the Nominal Enquiry to match bank statements with transactions or e.g. look at how much revenue was gained from one particular nominal code in a month.

  • Go to Accounts > Nominal Ledger > Nominal Enquiry in the main menu bar.
  • Enter the year you wish to view the enquiry on in the Hot Area.
  • Enter or search for the period/ nominal code/ cost code you wish to filter the enquiry on.
  • The period nominal and cost codes fields are optional and any of these can be left blank.
  • Hit return or click on the green tick button.
  • The number of the last statement will be displayed in the Last Statement box. This is for bank nominal codes only. This can be used to match bank statements with sytems, you can check between two, type in number of the bank statement you are currently matching, and then tick off in grid below when transactions appear on that statement..

This page displays a grid with the dates the specified enquiry transactions took place. Clicking on the "+" to the left of the date will show each transaction made on this date and show more information such as the cost code, description and value of each transaction.

To see the whole report for the specified enquiry, click on the Excel button in the bottom left hand corner of the screen.

Opening Balance

The Opening Balance figure is maintained by month end processing.

This grid displays a summary of the selected nominal code, showing the Budget, Forecast and Actual values for each period within the selected year. The Actual value figures are entered by the system from the nominal and cost codes if these codes have the Summary Details box ticked in their set up window for more information see Nominal Codes and Cost Codes. The Budget and Forecast figures can be entered from your own reports.

To update the the figures click on the Update button.

The figures can be transferred to a chart in Excel. Click on which type of chart you require.

  • Line - The line chart shows trends in data at equal intervals.
  • Column - The column chart shows data changes over a time period. Categories are organised horizontally, values vertically to emphasise variation.
  • Bar - The bar chart illustrates comparisons among items. Categories are organised vertically and values horizontally.
  • 3D - Check this box to produce a 3D version of the selected type.
  • Cumulative - Shows a cumulative graph.

Next to the totals at the bottom of the Budget, Revised and Actual columns are tick boxes. Tick the boxes of those columns you wish to include in your chart.
