Editorial Registration

You can add editorials to the system quickly and easily using the Editorial Registration as you don't have to enter them in the Order Screen as you would an advert. You can also register editorials as and when you receive them and then assign them to an issue at a later date. With this feature you can also move editorials that have been added between different issues.

When the Editorial Registration feature is used, the program will still set up an order for the editorial in the Creating a New Order for a Publication section, so you can view or edit by entering or searching for the Order number as usual.

Page numbers entered by the Schedule Overview report will be added to the Editorial Registration.

Adding an Editorial to an Issue

  • Go to Orders and Items > Editorial Registration in the main menu bar
  • Enter or search for the Publication Code.
  • There are two small boxes next to the Event Code:  make sure that only the 'Ed' box is ticked.  This ensures that BusiPro knows to use the Editorial item as the default.
  • The issues will appear as tabs across the head of the page. Choose the one for the issue you wish to place the editorial in.

  • Click on the New button. A new blank line will appear with the next available Service ID (ad reference) number.
  • Enter the details across the line, filling in as much information as you can (information can also be added later). You can search on Code fields using a right click, as usual.
  • Save by either clicking on the green tick above the grid which will update new lines or by the green tick button at the top. Once you have saved, the editorial will be given a contract and line number.

If you click on any of the editorial lines, the issue the editorial was placed in, contact name and any attribute code assigned along with the company address will be displayed in the bottom fields. If you wish this editorial not to be transferred over to Achieve, click on the Do not analyse tick box.

Adding Editorials to be Assigned to an Issue at a Later Date

  • Make sure that in the Orders & Items > Publication Set-up > issues, you have one called "99/99 Not yet Allocated".
  • Go to Orders and Items > Editorial Registration in the main menu bar
  • Enter or search for the Publication Code.
  • The issues will appear as tabs across the head of the page. Search for the Not Yet Allocated issue code, in most cases this will be 99/99.
  • Click on the New button. A new blank line will appear with the next available Service ID (ad reference) number.
  • Enter the details across the line, filling in as much information as you can (information can also be added later). Code fields you will be able to search in.
  • Save by either clicking on the green tick above the grid which will update any new lines or by the green tick button at the top. Once you have saved, the editorial will be given a contract and line number.
